Best Lil Wayne Album?-The Carter II

That Carter album, this was the make or break album for his career, pretty much the whole label make or break album..meaning..they had been putting a lot of emphasis on each nation wide album that was coming out from that time that Juvie 400 degrees album up until that BG - Checkmate album, that had some cool songs on it, but albums after that were downhill To Me with again the exception of Turk's solo album (which was forced IMO). They (Baby and Slim) were, just going through the motions with the albums after BG - Checkmate, shit was horrible..but they got back to the drawing board with the Carter 1, realizing that the label was on the verge of sinking, especially since everybody left pretty much and they had a new roster. They knew how important this album would be for the label and Wayne, I remember a few songs got leak from the "original" Carter 1 and me and my patna heard them and was like, this aint looking good for Wayne, plus the video he did (Shake Something) I wanna say it was called, with Mannie on singing on the hook about Beyonce or something was a horrible song. Baby must have gotten that feeling too cuz I heard dude made Wayne do the whole Carter 1 album over and that's when his 1st official single from the Carter came about which was "Bring it Back"... I think Baby finally gave that dude the green light and let him do him on this Wayne really started talking/rapping about stuff other than the normal on this album and those squad mixtape was a aide in this as well..him, gutta and nut was killing the streets down here with them mixtapes and I was hoping that some of that style got put on Carter 1, which it did..

Again that BM JR is/was to me the hardest track that I've ever heard from Mannie and Wayne ate that shit up...

Carter 2 was just a follow up, (still a tough tough album too) but it all started with Carter 1. You can literally put that album in and ride the bitch out with maybe one song that you may skip

I remember when it came out and ppl were sleeping on it, until I wanna say Keyon Martin was on the basement and he kept plugging that album..which he was right about it, I think that album could have really been bigger than what it was..didn't like the dj video and I think if it was done right, that song would have been bigger than what it was..it still hit hard in the club, but just would have been much bigger to me if the video was done right

Lyrically The Carter, but The Block is Hot is the only album I ever felt any soul in his music...just became a nice spitter around the 500 Degreez/Carter series time

Co-sign on the no classics for Weezy....unless we talking mixtapes

The carter 2 got the most play over a longer period of time. I liked the carter however the carter 2 is an all round more complete album i.m.o.
