I think when it comes to "black hood movies" people tend to choose between Menace or Boyz

Throwing Friday in the mix throws people off since its a comedy

The debate will always be Menace or Boyz

@CashmoneyDux U got beef with The Wash???

Speak your piece

That movie was wack niggas only like it cuz Dre, Snoop and em were in it

U buggin shit was actually comedy

Em only in it for like 30 secs

Snoop has made tons of movies that were trash too. The Wash is actually good for what it is. A low budget comedy

Shit, i still enjoy it. Own it on dvd. Revisit it about every 6mos or so and still comedy.

Hood classic for sure.

Deserves a spot on the poll before a few of these choices

Found it...

@"rip.dilla" wrote this in the Moonlight thread in LCA

"I remember over a decade ago... another gay themed movie was favourite for the Best Picture award at the Oscars and surprisingly a movie about race beat it (Brokeback Mountain & Crash) ... but the major players in the gay cowboy flick were White

I think there’s discussions to be had on why Moonlight had such a universal affection from (White) audiences when similar movies about 'coming of age' involving Black men have been made numerous times but without the main protagonist being gay...

John Singleton has been mentioned in this thread and I saw Babyboy last month. A classic coming of age Black movie if you ask me. No recognition though"

LOL... don't ban me bro

It's always been Friday for me

Made a post the other day about how much I loved Menace to Society growing up only to come to the realization that Dead Presidents is a better movie.

Yeah, it's always gonna be between Boyz N The Hood and Menace to Society.

But no mention of South Central or Fresh?
