Niggas get sidetracked by being able to say i make __ a yr, but when you do the math based on the fact you pay ___ a yr in cost of living, its a wash
Thats a lil harsh, a lot of great attributes, still top 5 for niggas, but financially u not doin as much as you think you are unless u got a in (like me, the plug)
And 'DC' DOES refer to northern VA and Maryland as well (not Baltimore. Baltimore is NOT part of the "DMV")
Ain't you from out VA? There's a difference in living actually in the city vs PG or NOVA. Not only in prices but overall quality of living and convenience to being able to move around with or without owning a car which is 10x harder to do if you live too far into PG or VA away from the city line. And that DMV shit is corny. Its for out of owners so they don't get lost and VA niggas who live out there to try and claim it. People actually from here just say what part of the city or PG they're from. Never forget the time I ran into some niggas from out Dale City talking about "We the real DC" lol.
Lol @ Dale city
Im from VA, live in DC, work in PG.
And DC niggas the only one who STILL care about that claiming DC shit. No one gives af champ. This aint high school. Niggas are adults, we not arguing over wearing Shooters, Solbiato, and the implied street cred of sayin 'im from DC' anymore.
In the context of real estate, DC = 'DMV'
And yes DMV is corny and new, but DMV also just means metropolitan DC area.
Also, anyone not from the area wondering: you're not getting any real estate in D.C. Good luck, but not likely unless u want a lil condo.
Bc cats like @blackrain who bleed day 1 DC, when they grow up and get that DC metro area money? They move...to VA or MD
Actually if you notice I don't claim DC if someone asks where I'm from. That's part of why I said to people from here it's corny and we just say where we from because anyone from here knows just how close PG and DC are that they overlap in most places so you have to be specific. I always say I'm from Suitland, when asked even though I did grow up and spent most of my childhood around The Farms but I still claim Suitland even before that because that's where my dad lived and niggas from here know how depending on where on Suitland Rd you lived or how close to Suitland Parkway you were just how close Suitland and DC are. As in walk across the street and you're in a different city/state.
And as someone who works in real estate I can tell you you're dead as a wrong that the DMV is all encompassing. Huge difference in living in the city vs VA or MD. As someone who has actually lived in both DC and MD sides there's a huge difference in not only cost of living but access in general to certain shit. And VA is far more expensive than MD is. Hell it's damn near more expensive than most of the city except for Georgetown and certain pockets of NW and SW.
My nigga...why are you telling me all this? lls
In the context of this thread, Im giving a Macro view for those unfamiliar. There really is no need to give a micro view. Especially to me
But as far as your details, as far as real estate, DC =the entire- metro-area. Period
Bc
1) Less than 5% of folk reading, if that, are gona be in a position to move into the city lines
2) If someone brand new is moving to the area, they are not gonna stop their search within DC lines. But as far as they know, they are living in the "DMV"
3) In real estate you don't categorize by state. You categorize by areas. You should know this. Ie Fairfax county, VA is one of, if not the most expensive in the US. Meanwhile Richmond, VA is dirt cheap. Both are 'VA'. The novice doesn't know they are not close and Richmind is nowhere near DC. Look at Dallas. People barely even say dallas anymore. What they say?...Dallas-Forth Worth Area.
And 4) Actually, you are wrong. On paper "Virginia" is more expensive, and certain cities are, but in PG county where they get you is property taxes. There's a reason PG County at one time was #1 in the country in foreclosures. (See DC National Harbor which is actually located IN: PG county. MGM Grand bein built there as we speak, who u think footin that bill?)
You can find a house in Woodbridge for cheap. Woodbridge/ Springfield/maybr Route 1 Alexandria is night and day to other super expensive DMV Virginia cities like Arlington, Fairfax, Reston, or Sterling (where Skins players live). So your categorization of "VA" is comical
Yo, dont nobody buy a house from THIS nigga...
first I never said I sold homes I said I work in real estate. There's way more than just selling homes.
What you're saying is how people get tricked into moving here not realizing where the hell they're actually moving to. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who were sold on "moving to the DMV" only to find out they're 20-25+ miles outside of actual DC and their commute is a bitch to work or simply just to go enjoy a day in DC and are extremely upset about that. That is a major part of not only getting people to move to an area but also stay their asses there. So that is why the term DMV can be very misleading. People making life decisions on where they live based on terms like that and geographically it's misleading as fuck because as even you had to clarify yourself some think the "DMV" stretches all the way to Baltimore. And that's because people apply the term to anywhere in the state of MD or VA.
You're still ignoring the basic differences from living in a major city vs simply living near it. @emholla already told you that shit matters especially to people not from here. You live in Seat Pleasant but work in NW you're need for a car is gonna be a bit higher than someone who actually simply just lives inside the city limits. Those differences matter to people. This is why applying the blanket term DMV just so you VA niggas can claim DC instead of racist ass Northern VA matters.
Your last sentence nullifies everything
We're talking about real estate, property, places to live to help niggas out
And you soundin like a typical HOBO and slouch socks wearin , 2nd childhood DC nigga
Nigga im grown. Unless you 15, rap, or rep a click, no ones gives a flying fuck about 'repping Dc'
Lmao you talking about being grown but can't take a simple joke nor respond coherently to the point being made because of it. The last sentence was just me bullshitting around. If you can't actually respond to the content of my post and that one line threw you off then give it up and admit you ain't right on this one.
Take a look again lil buddy. You've been sonned
If that makes you feel better ok. You think that...and stop naming decade old trends. You making the whole VA niggas thing look worse lol
