That's how it usually goes. At the time it was considered wack, just like the previous years. Shit only becomes great when you reflect & look back.

Alotta great albums dropped that year. Same thing with years like 1997 & so on.

CNN's first album was one of the best albums of 1997 IMO. Such a raw East coast album but i can still play it & love it.

Damn 2000 was another great in my childhood, plus I had to go to summer school that year. My brother was taking me to summer school in his ol school, while we pulling in the front with about 100 people outside, bumping that When The Smoke Clears loud af.
