The southern Cali/Valley accents is the one thing I've never understood about the Ninja Turtles.

I didn't notice how awkward it is until now

I didn't notice it when I was a kid, but one day some years back I caught the original on tv again and I thought to myself "Why they talking like they're fresh off watching an episode of Saved By The Bell" lol

Damn, I'm just now realizing Ralph (and Casey Jones) was the only one with a New York accent in the original movie franchise...

I think as kids they were very impressionable. The popping music at the time were the beach boys and Katrina and the sun shine band. When u eat pizza and listen to those niggas all day, that's what happens

it was the 80s surfer boy mentalities were in style. for the ones that dont understand the cali accents you can tell yall aint 80s babies

You mean KC And the Sunshine Band...and that was long before the Ninja Turtles came out. Turtles came out in the 80s...and the cartoon came out during the time when that Valley accent was popular due to late 80's/early 90's teen movies that had it all over the place.

Who cares about their accents its a movie about talking turtles that practices martial arts. You really have to suspend your disbelief on this one. Btw mad magazine or cracked pointed out that fact about theiraccents in a spoof comic years ago and the joke went "why do you guys have beach bum accents? We live in the sewers every time somebody up there flushes it's surfs up"

This new one was way better than the 1st, although I will agree there shouldve been a little bit more fighting scenes, bebop and rocksteady were hilarious, I liked how even though they brothers but were still learning how to trust each other and become a team, that jumping from the plane to another one was my favorite part. Wished they would've fought shredder though but the ending was on point like the last one. Even Tyler perry wasn't bad. Casey Jones really only had 2 scenes that showcased his skills but u could tell it was a good fit. Nothing compares to the og Casey jones. Overall it was a fun film that makes u wanna watch it more than once

I was hesitant about Tyler Perry but he did a good job. He was geeky as hell. That laugh he did had me rolling every time.

Was hilarious how they bucked Casey up to sneak up on Splinter.

if they didn't fight shredder at least they fought krang so that's a plus. where there foot soldiers in this one? do they look like authentic foot soldiers now that shredder is getting his technology from krang and baxter stockman? the foot soldiers from the first one looked like extras from the raid.

The foot soldiers actually look like ninjas in this one, and shredder costume wasnt robotic either, whoever had creative control on this new one knew what they were doing in terms of costume designs

Saw it last night. The movie was just OK. I wasn't blown away.

Bebop & Rockstedy felt just like the 80's cartoon. Great job.

Hated Krang's voice.

They never explained how Shredder even survived the fall from the first movie.

Casey Jones was cool, but he didn't feel rugged like the cartoon incarnations.

And it was obvious how he survived. The mutagen

Did they ever explain Shredder surviving a trash compactor?

Lol He didn't mutate though unless he mutated to a younger guy. Once again never explained.

All his scares on his face went away

The mutagen was an antidote not "ooze"

I can't believe you guys are defending secret of the ooze. I was 13 when that fiasco hit the theatres and me and my friend d felt like we were ripped off when we saw it. You guys had to be in diapers or were still crawling to think that shit was good. It had vanilla ice in it for crying out loud and that super shredder was bullshit he didn't even fight. He just walked slow while the turtles backed down. Matter of fact he killed himself while pulling a pier down. That movie was trash the only good live action turtle movie back then was the first one . I saw booth in the theatres I know what I'm talking about.

This movie didn't have enough interaction or fight scenes with beebop, rocksteady or shredder. Leonardo sharpened his swords and never used them
