It won't do well with the masses, but this seems interesting to me. World War 1 has been barely covered in fps format, mostly just rts stuff. Battle of Somme and Verdun would be amazing.

They just dropped a modern game this year that didnt do well with the masses so I doubt they using that train of thought.

and games like COD place emphasis on twitch like skills to be able to compete with younger kids who they are obviously catering to nowadays

Thats not true you cant access certain weapons, skins and perks in those types of games until you reach certain levels thats their whole gimmick.

Bruh WW1 was trench warfare... look that shit up. They didn't even have tanks until 1917 and even then the tanks only moved like 6 mph. That shit gonna be boring as fuck.
