Vader was just having fun.

Batman thought he cloaked his way into the Death Star undetected, but Vader was waiting for him and met him at the door.

Batman made mistakes in believing The Force was magic, and that Vader could only focus The Force on one thing at a time. In essence, Batman underestimated Vader's ability.

Vader got mad though when Bats blew that helmet off.
