Just seen this on Mike and Mike. A lot of people complaining about this, and Mike and Mike both think there was nothing wrong with it. Now I am a Yankee fan so I guess I'm biased, but wtf? You play to win, if you can get away with that, then why not try it? It was a big game, take every advantage you can get. It is the Yankees though, so they are always under a microscope.

No, he should take the base, as the ump directed, but all the extra acting was not cool. Like I said first he clutched his elbow, and the ball clearly never touched his elbow, then he had the trainer checking out his hand... it was just too much lol

If the ball its the bat, everything after that doesnt matter. Its in play at that point. Ever seen how a batter swings and the ball bounces off their foot, its still a foul ball/strike.
