Not exactly, I let it stand where it stand. Omar was a faggot, but I could overlook that because he was a G, however I am not going to play audience to his faggotry, tis more than I can bear. I can't speak for everyone only for myself in saying that I have to turn away, it's repulsive. How you feel about it is entirely up to you.
well, considering that worst case scenario you saw him kiss a man for a few seconds, i'm not sure how this meets some unspeakable level of horror you're not able to stand. and i still don't understand how people can change the channel away from a show for some time and then flip back to it. that would drive me nuts.

ultimately, though, it's the fact that people who watch and love the the show saying this stuff that makes me wonder why those fans seem so RIGHTEOUSLY OFFENDED that Omar's shown as a homosexual and feel the need to follow "yeah, Omar's a great character" with "BUT I NEVER WATCHED HIM ACT HOMOSEXUAL, I IMMEDIATELY CHANGED THE CHANNEL."

full disclosure: i used to work with a guy who would spaz out completely whenever someone mentioned Omar and declare he changed the channel "until it was safe to return," and he's the example that springs to mind when i hear this reaction to Omar. still not sure what the problem is, though.

Stringer Bell is arguably the greatest written character in The Wire if not t.v history. He has this larger than life persona-
honestly, it's when someone's a larger-than-life persona that i start thinking they're NOT the best character. Stringer's still a great character, though, especially as i think you could note he was shown NOT to be larger than life.

oh, having not said it, i'm saying Bodie is the best character on the show.

This shit is old, he said this when he was campaigning

Does that make it any less intriguing, or relevant? Man folks in university still use the wire as a case study for economic isolation/crime and institutional racism and corruption.
