I like Kells song, and I like the way Babyface writes his songs. I have to go with Kells. But, if I'm boning I'll pop in Babyface

R Kelly hands down....dude wrote and produce joints for other stars..shit he made Britney Spears sound decent on this shit

Kelly wrote material in the 90's that blows a lot the music today, out of the water.

That pedo shit caused me to look at him in a totally different light, and this is coming from someone who was one of his biggest fans at one point. I had to stop fucking with his music after that. It seemed like he became a caricature at that point. Even the material he wrote for people after that, started to sound watered down and cliched.

I remember when he was on WGCI back in the late 90's (back when I was in high school) with Mike Luv and the Diz, before the "R" album came out, and he was mimicking the singing voices of Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson, live on air, and he nailed each one perfectly. After hearing that, I don't know how anyone didn't see him as one of the most talented people in R&B or music in general.

Back in the 90's- early 2000's, he was untouchable (IMO).

I'm running with RKelly I think some of the concepts and the thought process he puts into writing a song can not be duplicated

If we are talking about the 90's than hands down r.kelly. but we're down. but if we're dealing with the 80's than its jimmy jam and terry lewis. they personified the 80's mineapolis sound

I look at it like this, Babyface had the ballads on lock in the 90's while R. had the late night's on lock Lol.

Jam & Lewis had pop on lock and Teddy Riley had the club on lock.

All were prolific in their time, but R.Kelly is the most enduring, cause they all wrote and produced for others, but.out of all the artist mentioned Kels music is timeless. The other people mentioned, their music is associated with a certain time or era. I believe i can fly will sound just as good 30 yrs from now. I dont know if our kids will be playing new jack swing or the control album.

good thread. they're all really talented. i'm going to be the underdog and choose teddy riley. i loved the new jack swing era
