Dink....I'd check out an Autozone or the like. Ask for your car to be scanned for errors...its free. Anything comes up he'll give you a rundown on your problems if any. If nothing comes up...there might be mechanical issues uncontrolled by the car's comuters that might be going...i.e. transmission.

To me, a car guy, it doesn't sound like your transmission. I'd say, spark plugs, oil change, check the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) would all be good places to start.

Could be fuel filter also that always used to make my el camino put and die....... he might need fuel injectors cleaned also

My cutlass used to do that ...could be warning signs about fuel pump... just my 2 cents

or it could be the flux compassitor needs 20cc of condensed uranium.along as you get it up to 85 it will be smooth sailing

could be vacuum leaks, the belts slipping, or a problem with the exhaust(catalytic converter or O2 sensors)

usually the transmission is the last thing to just make a car stutter as your driving it
