I lived in about 12 cities....including close to nyc (for a brief time) and la...and NOW atl is the biggest hip hop city there is...

Nyc is clearly more historically relevant and is still number 1 from a business standpoint but atl is the most relevant city for breaking artists...

Pretty much just because you bump in atl doesnt mean you bump nationwide but if you are big nationwide you gotta be huge in atl...

Hell theres rappers who are well known nationally that are afterthoughts in atl (k camp, scooter, even future now)...

Nigga...Mecca is a city. And Mecca has been the point of pilgrimage, and Holy city for islam as far back as I can remember. Mecca of Islam has never moved based on the culture moving. Mecca is Absolute. So is NYC and hip hop. Islam, and radical islam might be going ham in other parts of the world right now, but Mecca will always be Mecca...Therefore, hip hop's mecca will always be NYC. The Roots, growth, and success of it will always be traced back there, if you call yourself a lyricist, you were directly, or indirectly influenced by an NYC artist, and might not even know it.

If I was a lawyer, i'd fight this case for free it's so easy.
