Man killed in drive-by in Gage Park


A man was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting early this morning in the Gage Park neighborhood, police said.

About 12:10 a.m., a 29-year-old man was in the 5100 block of South Sacramento Avenue when a male suspect opened fire from a vehicle, striking the victim in the back, according to a release from Police News Affairs.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he later died, the release said.

No one was in custody, the release said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed they were notified.

Acceptance isn't the way to deal with this, we need to find soultions, or else it's never ending. I'm not saying all of them were black, but it's damn sure a reason why most assumed it was, and that's because it usually is. This increase in violence in Chicago is mainly in urban communities...i.e Black people killing one another.

It's sad B, everyday you wake up and 1st story is always teen shot. I know for a fact that their not reporting all the shootings/deaths. Chicago is big but it's like 3 little cities in 1 I live on the North side and most of this shit is happening on the South and West side. And to keep it 100 with ya'll when I watch the news and I hear the whole teen shot I'll say Southside/Westside and 90% of the time I'm right. And those South and West suburbs aren't any better B.

I'm just smart enough to know that the Taste brings everyone out from freaks, geeks to gangsters and I'm talking real live shit not that soo woo BS everyone's screaming now.
