this dude zino thinks he intelligent, but hes really just mad at life.

New York fell off because of Hot 97!? - for real?

Radio is radio, where ever you go its the same exact formula.

Radio sucks, no one listens to radio- they do influence people by playing the same songs all day long- but if you have half a brain you can make decisions for yourself on whether you like something or not. Even making a decision to tune in or not.

I do not like how they ignore the facts for the most part- but anybody would do the same for the people close to them.

The brand is now tainted and they must deal with that.

saying New York fell off because of Hot 97 is ridiculous.

I don't listen to anything with Benzino, that lame tried picking up my chick in Miami last year- she laughed in his face, so did I lol.

But besides that- Benzino is just the angry stepchild that no one cares about.

Why the f*ck is he speaking on this....oh thats right cause he wants attention.

Remember The magazine The Source and how it always used to have 2 page spreads about Made Men (who) yeah, Benzino is in the same boat as Hot 97.

When I was wit my babymama she used to stream Hot 97 all day and the shit made me sick. Being that Flex and other DJs would be the first to say that hiphop belongs in NY, they don't play that real hiphop, its jus hippop and its sad.

I aint listen to the interview, but i'm inclined to agree.

Peter Rosenburg (The white guy) is the best DJ by far Hot 97 has right now.

12am on Sunday he plays what true hip-hop heads wanna hear.

I aint check it out yet but the description looks like it's on point. If NY is the Hip Hop mecca and what they play has been compromised, is it fair to say that Hip Hop itself has been compromised? That was the same accusation that was made about the source, why don't it apply here? Benzino isn't well liked but the payola, violence, favoritism, hate etc. is well documented with hot97. Don't kill the messenger, if it's true what he's saying.

benzino shoulda just worried about puttin out a better brand of hip hop............that would put more creditablity into what he says

Lets be honest, if he was more successful in hip hop (The source, Made MEn......etc) would this even be an issue? He has a hip hop heart but just bad product overall......If u notice, dude just has a general disdain for everything hip hop, but is like the bggest hip hop head..........he never is in an interview biggin up anything other who he feels are "street" siht.......Anytime anybody ever came at him, he always plays the "you aint street" card.......

a lot of that stems from him not making it.....Dude heart was in the right place, he just comes off as mad salty tho.......

Exactly. He may be correct in his assessment of Hot 97, but that is because shady recognizes shady.

As Hot 97 undergoes sharp criticism for attempting to sweep scandal surrounding a list of its radio personalities (including Mister Cee and Funkmaster Flex) under the rug, Benzino is speaking out. In this exclusive interview with the rapper who brought us The Source magazine, Jacky Jasper uncovers how people like Funkmaster Flex have single-handedly destroyed radio and hip hip.

Part 1 of a 3 part series:

“As long as the staff at Hot 97, which has been there for years and been doing suspect **** for years…as long as they’re up there, New York will never be the same.”

During this very candid conversation Benzino lays out the spin of lies Hot 97 has announced to its listeners, explains the bias DJ’s like Funkmaster Flex have when selecting music for air, and exposes Hot 97FM’s list of on air talent as “a bunch of self interest DJ’s and personalites who wanna be stars themselves.”

Take a listen as Benzino tells Jacky Jasper, “when the DJ is bigger than the artist, it clouds things…as long as it keeps going on up there, the New York artist will always suffer.”

Question, how is what Flex and 97 doing different from what djs and radio stations have been doing since Macroni invented the medium?

Zino has a point. However I feel like a lot of people, not just Hot 97, knew about Cee's preferences beforehand and are complicit in perpetrating it. Mr. Cee is definitely not the only tranny lover in hip hop just like Guru wasnt the only gay rapper. So, I wouldnt pay to much attention to someone with such an obvious axe to grind or a financial interest (like Charlamagne) in seeing Hot 97 damaged by this.

Unless hip hop is cleaning house, hypocrites should stay out of it.
