They gave both sides of the arguement and Ollie even mentioned the violence Green Arrow and the crew does, and if it creates more violence etc.
The biggest debate on the issue was Mr Fanatastic and Wild Dog being on opposite sides on the issue.

I dont think you did get all that, but the issues you keep bringing up was addressed in the episode. Gun issues falls in line with what Green Arrow is all about anyway.
