I dont think it can really be argued about this show being better than smallville. it took many seasons for smallville to become a quality show. It only took Arrow half a season. truthfully Smallville didnt get consistently good until lois lane appeared, and it got even better when he went to Metropolis. Their Green Arrow always kinda sucked though.

I loved smallville but I also think that they pushed it way more for the dawsons creek teen crowd, because thats what the WB was popular for back then. The CW is a little darker than the WB was.

I caught up to the latest episode with the suicide squad. It was awesome. Waller Deadshot and Harley simply epic. Im happy to see the influence Christopher Nolans Dark Knight had on other comic book shows to be legitimate and darker.
