I'd agree if the cars were owned outright, which is very rarely the case. When you see a Black man or woman step out of a late model luxury car the chances are extremely high it's a lease. Even if it's an older luxury car there's likely a note behind it. This comparison is flawed in that it assumes that the person in a high dollar car actually paid the $70-$120K to own it. Again, if that were the case I would wholeheartedly agree with you but even rappers that supposedly have all this money are paying car notes.

it ain't about liquor and tobacco. It's about the stores that we're not able to open unless we're able to get the same business loans and lines of credit that they can. If Black people had access to the money to set up shops in their own neighborhoods we wouldn't be having this discussion because the needs of Black people would be serviced by Black owned businesses.

I have an IT consulting business I run right now, I could use about $25K in funding for shit like hardware, software licensing, and a lease on a small office to work out of instead of my living room and ultimately expand on my offerings to my clients. I lost a couple of clients this year due to lack of hardware to support the companies I signed on. I've hit up banks for small business loans and have been denied. My only recourse right now are some smaller lending spots with ridiculous interest rates and shitty payback options like OnDeck, Kabbage, Can Capital etc but I'm having a hard dime qualifying mostly due to not showing enough income but that's due to lost revenue. I'm sure if I had come to the bank in the exact same situation but my name was Li Wang Zhou I would have had my funding.
