Well for starters ive been an apple supporter and i currently own a jailbroken iphone 4. ive been anticipating the release of the next generation phone to see what alterations they coulddve made. needless to say i concur with the general consensus that both the ios6 and the device itself are both underwhelming and left me desiring more. yes i get that its taller, thinner, and leaner but i wanted some important strides to be made like nfc support for example. come on. we're on the 5th generation already. something like that shouldve been included
which leads me to my next point. my disappointment with the iphone 5 left me doing research on its competition. specifaclly the lumia 920 the design is what caught my attention. its sleak, slim and sexy, and not square and bulky. it will also be running on the new windows 8 os. as ive said ealier if my feelings for the iOS were one of admiration, than what i felt for the windows mobile platform was completely diametric. i absolutely hated windows mobile. ive had nothing but bad experiences with it. but the new windows phone 8 os they are planning to release might have me jumping ship yet once again. they are pretty tight lipped about it now, but one of the things that caught my attention was the fact that windows phone 8 and windows 8 on pc's will share the same kernel. allowing esay intergration between the devices. offering a more personal experience overall. this was one of apple's strengths. the flawless intergration between devices on their ecosystem. and also one of android's achilles heel. which is why i never cared for their fragmented system outside of the customization. but another selling point especially if your a gamer is that widonws 8 os will also come with c and c++ support. making it easier for developers to create apps for the store. and it will include the active x gaming control that the pc currently uses. which is something else that will make game developers cream their pants. if all of this is true, we may soon be seeing some cutting edge, groundbreaking games being made for a smartphone.
all of this really has me considering making that switch to actually go and cop this shit. and it also hasme paying close attention to the more details that come out. they are saying the release date is somewhere between the end of october and november. so we'll see. if all goes well this has the potential to be both an iphone and galaxy s killer
