He gave them the rights to stream his music but only tidal. Most of this was due to how tidal was set up to help the artist. So Jay would literally be selling out Princes music to the company or companies prince never wanted getting it should he sell tidal.

Mind you Prince ain't even have a will for his money but he left tidal with the rights to his music. So Jay not actually doing a deal would be the only way to preserve the one thing price decided to take care of before he died.
