A lot of people in the bay relate to southern artists more than they would rappers from LA or the East Coast.

Everybody loved cash money and no limit when they came out. Plus Master P lived in Richmond for a minute. Not surprising.

The artists who are influencing these youngins in the Bay were originally inspired by Bay artists like $hort and 40. Its a dope cross pollination in my opinion

I definitely noticed it

Also if you look at this newer generation of young Detroit rappers, they all sound like some Hot Boys

I goated for everything in there except Lil B. The beat he was rapping on yeah that's a New Orleans beat but I just can't listen to that clown.

Black folks in Cali have roots in Texas and louisiana

When I lived in LA I was amazed how much of their family are originally from Louisiana.

honestly had no idea Huey P Newton was from La then moved to oakland until a lil while ago

Detroit and the Bay has had a connection for a long time now.

I'm straight outta LA and we naturally vibe with N.O and Texas cats due to a lot of the OGs originally coming from there. Also we vibe with niccas from jersey too. Idk how or why but we have this funny connection with them in LA

No diss, but we've influenced so many different areas and musical styles. I have cousins from Oakland that shocked me how country their accents were.

Both of these are true.

About 12-13 years ago the Bay was a heavy influence in Detroit.
