i cant figure out the fuckin end.....he was messin with that dude pretendin he went crazy again i think, but idk where they took him

he knew who he was but decided to act the "crazy" part. He wanted the lobotomy so he wouldnt have to live what he had done instead of continuing to live a lie. That's why he said "it's better to die as a good man (the 'agent') than live as a monster." He went back into character so he could be basically erased.

It's a psychological thriller, I think the ending was left to make the viewer insane lol, This damn movie has questioned my sanity!

Really, there may not be a specific ending, you kinda form your own opinion. It's almost impossible to interpret which way is correct, because either way you view it, the movie still makes sense. It's crazy!

Did they let him go? No, I don't think he would ever be allowed to leave, in either situation.

Was he pretending? Possibly. He may have faked his relapse to get lobotomized, and be free of his guilt.

Did they castrate him? ya never know! lol. That final scene of the lighthouse could imply they were taking him there to perform the procedure, but why perform a lobotomy in a lighthouse? That makes me think some other weird experiments were taking place in there, like the dr. said.

just watched it sunday and didn't understand the ending for shit.

I thought he was really a detective and killed his wife. He decided to still act crazy so he wouldnt have to live as a monster. idk that shit made my head hurt
