Man I play that shit all the time. It's a club here in the Chi where they have a Afric Hi-Fi once a month, they play bossa nova, afro cuban and african jazz. That Fela be bumping in the club like a muthafucka!

Everybody always loves Girl From Impanema (played by Stan Getz) but I think Corcovado was the best track he recorded. Nice and smooth. I'd post it but I cant from work.

Sidenote: Dink I should have known you would be into this kind of music. Its hard for us not to be growing up around here with the big Afro-latin and Cuban culture.

its been a minute since I listen to bossa nova...i used to listen to it on internet radio...there was this one singer that i literally fell in love with...i don't remember her name but she had a song on the boondocks called i believe in it

I started getting into Sergio Mendes about a few years ago(Timeless). I am going back to listen to as much of his early work as I can. I'm glad this thread was started to share artists I've never heard of. I can apperciate exploring new musical generes and artists.

Although she will forever be remembered as the Queen of Salasa ..this particular cut with Willie Colon had a jazz feel to it.
