Man they are gonna tear the Farms down it's just a matter of time. They already got the go ahead to tear it down to build new condos so their plans of gentrifying the bottom half of Anacostia goes through. The only thing stopping it is the Farms residents fighting it. They even planning to put a trolly car down town Anacostia and running through past where the library is off V street.

yea i'm good in the Farms...hooped out there my whole life...they gonna knock that shit down sooner or later.....if that department of homeland shit ain't fail they would have steam rolled that shit by now.

Whats that?

I heard they wanted to rebuild a rec center out there and the tenants protested smh

they planned to build a new campus for Department of homeland security but the money got fucked up and once housing market crashed i guess Bush just stopped it....Obama took office he pretty much crushed the project. If you on MLK you can't miss it of if you on 295 you cna't miss it. Whole bunch of unfinished buildings. They only finsihed the buildign for the coast gurd but they never moved in over there..

That was going to be the center piece for gentrification on the southside. They had planned to knock down the Farms and build a mall over top of Anacostia metro station. That's why they got a trolley line down there. They had that built before they finished benning road section. They not gonna have whtiey walking through that area/

But like blackrain said it's only a matter of time. First they gonna steam roll the Corda's then the Farms will be next.

Props. Yea the writing is definitely on the wall even sooner for sursom cordas (the most hood name ever). Once they started all that NoMa shyt and buil that Harris Teeter and highrise near 1st i knew.

I coulda got in on that by pullin some strings and buyin undr somebody else name b/c they had to leave a certain percentage avail to low income residents. I underestimted how much of a lick that would be but maaaan in 5-10 years you aint gon be able to tell there used to be a hood there

Sooner or later they gonna finish that shit. Wild shit is though it still wasn't going to house all the homeland workers....my wife works for border patrol and they were still gonna stay in the ronald Reagan building.

That silver line is causing Metro prices to rise and it makes no sense to even have the metro go out that far. Nobody is gonna use that shit often enough becUse the metro doesn't run 24/7 so if you live all the way out in VA if you take the train living in Alexandria or Arlington you already got to cut your trip into DC short to make sure you catch the last train. Imagine having to travel further than that on the metro. You'd have to be back on the train by like 1 am on a weekend to make it back out VA before the station closes

funny fact.....I know this nigga's peoples well

I used to date one of his cousins back in high school

nigga was still on that street shit then even tho he was doing the BYB at the same time

of course this is back in the day when we were considered "DC Niggaz" instead of "DMV niggaz"

I guess I'm just too ol school to get with these new names and shit haha

DC is like the last black strong hold outside of atlanta

they held out them messicans unlike a lot of cities.

its hard to fight white people with money coming in.....but i always hated how people like the messicans come in an set up shop an run them out.

i hope something is done to stop the lightening of DC

Impossible Lol The big thing now is the housing crunch as "millenials" (read, white people) all vie for property in DC as opposed to VA or MD. Why? B/c the stigma of 'big bad DC' is gone or going to be gone. They not scared of nggas no more Lol All the black folk are moving to PG county

In fact, the classic row house look of DC is even changing. Look at this shyt

They found a loophole and now they're buildin skinny lil condos right next to row houses. Called pop-ups
