I can see it now. The movie starts off with a montage of the hardships of being po', broke, and strugglin' in Mexico. Tony's mama decides to bring him and his sister into the U.S. illegally. The coyotes try to rape Gina ( or whatever his sister's name will be,) Tony kills the rapey coyete, but not before he get his scar.

The story then moves to California's San Joaquin Valley, where we find the Montanas (or whatever they're name will be,) doing migrant framing. Here he meets Manny. They say fuck his shit, move to East LA, get hooked in with some Sureños, come up in the game, see the blimp, (if it's paying tribute to the original a billboard,) or if it's modern a banner ad on the lap top, piss off El Chapo, have an epic, shootout, then credits. I wonder will Pacino get a cameo?

I'm tired of fuckin remakes, just be fuckin creative and create a new story , damn. Shits gettin ridiculous.

You do know that Pacino Scarface was a remake and a bad one at that.

The point still remains, damn near half of the movies being made are remakes, it's already bad enough hollywood is mostly focusing on comic book shit.

And foh @ The Pacino scarface was a bad movie.

Pacino Scarface is a remake. I'm sure they made it about a Cuban immigrant because it was cheaper to film down south.

They can go any way with it really. As long as it's hardcore.

They made it about a Cuban because the drug trade in Miami is what was popping with latinos from the streets back in the 80s. Same way the original Scarface was influenced by Capone.

No it's because of the reason I gave.

So you saying you know more than Brian De Palma or Oliver Stone about their own movie?

'SCARFACE' REMAKE CASTS ITS TONY MONTANA, 'ROGUE ONE' ACTOR DIEGO LUNA

Your favorite fictional drug kingpin will be Mexican rather than Cuban.

Say "hallo" to your new Tony Montana. The forthcoming Scarface remake has cast Mexican actor Diego Luna, who recently appeared in the Star Wars spinoff Rogue One, as the iconic profanity-spewing mob boss, famously played by Al Pacino in the 1983 original.

The remake has been envisioned as a modern-day retelling of the rags-to-riches immigrant story, and the action and cocaine-fueled debauchery will be moved from Miami to Los Angeles. While it's hard to imagine Tony without his thick Cuban accent, he will be Mexican in the remake.

Diego is a big star in his native Mexico, having shot to fame in the 2001 cult classic Y Tu Mamá También alongside Gael García Bernal. He has since appeared in many Hollywood productions, like Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and Milk. So he can certainly match Pacino's acting prowess, and his slight and unimposing stature makes sense for a character that is meant to be more talk than walk.

While Diego appears to be a fine choice, the project is having trouble locking down a director. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) had originally signed on but has since had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. May we suggest Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive) or Chad Stahelski (John Wick)?

The next important casting decision will be the role of Elvira Hancock, the Miami ice queen played by Michelle Pfeiffer who made the rookie mistake of getting high on her own supply.

Muthafuckas need to be fired for not fact checking. Who doesn't know that the Scarface Pacino played in was a remake?

A lot of people who write these articles are 90s babies. So a lot of them don't know about Howard Hawks original. 90s babies are allergic to movies made before 1979.
