Why are they announcing it and giving facebook a chance to prevent it? The only reason I could think that they would do that is if just saying they're going to hack facebook is maybe some sort of warning to facebook to change their procedures. But it would seem if they just hacked them and THEN said something it would work better.

What happend to the good old days when hackers would just hack a website and put their agenda and tag on the home page without an alert? Thats what they should've done. Would've had a bunch of facebook fanatics freakin the fuck out lol.

Depends what type of attack they do. If they're doing a DDOS attack, there's not much facebook can do. If their trying to compromise their servers then there's various counter measures they can do. I'm guessing they'll just DDOS it so you can't access it for a couple hours.
