Both albums were dope, 3000 singing and artistry were on full display.

Big Boi was going in on most of speakerboxxx. Both were great in there own ways.

Shit was fucking pure fire .... Creatively Lyrically Content .....just a superb effort ...and honestly I don't know why niggas at this point or even at that point in Dre's career would expect a full rap album ...that wouldn't happen then nor now ...this project was in the same vein as a George Clinton x Prince record ...all kinds of PFunk and Newwave overtones throughout this bitch

-She Lives In Lap ( one of his best songs even considering his group work)

-Spread (fire)

-Prototype (fire)

-Hey Ya (Hit Record)

-Roses (Fire)

-Pink & Blue ( Fire)

-She's Alive (Fire)

-Dracula Wedding (Fire)

-Vibrate (Classic)

-ADITLOAB (Classic chronological story telling ...5 mins of straight rhyming)

Only joints i didn't feel that heavy were "love n war" and "my favorite things"

Record was of course before its time ...but that's why as an artist you can't really worry about what these Neanderthal ass fans be talking about cos they'll have you making the same album for 20 years if they had it their way ...

At the time this dropped I thought 3 stacks was on some faggot shit...

I've never heard this album...

I'm kinda shocked about that so I'ma see if it's on Apple music and give it a listen.

Shits damn near better than Speakerboxxx. Aged better too.

I prefer love below to speakerboxx. Just my preference. It was the precursor to 808s, which I also loved. If u enjoy music and not just rap, you'd appreciate the album. Its a classic to me

Like someone said earlier in this thread, The Love Below has indeed aged better than Speakerboxx. I still like both discs but since its kinda our only 3 Stacks solo I lean towards it more. It's one half of an Album of the Year Grammy winner, can't say more than that.

I would say this was slept on but I know It aint for everybody and hard to compare the 2 simply cause Cee-Lo actually has rap songs on it.

He's talkin bout genitals smh

"The love below"

wasn't til bout a year ago I caught on

esp. after really listenin to "Vibrate" lol

Some folks don't know he was telling a (love) story the whole way thru the album. He shy's away from love (Love Hater), then he gets hit by Cupid (Valentines Day), he smashes (Spread), he then thinks she's the (Prototype), but then she gets to attached/clingy (She Lives In My Lap), having relationship problems (Love In War), then he thinks about getting married (Dracula's Wedding ).... Although it does have some continuity lapses as far as the story goes, the last song was jus a summarization. "I met her in a nightclub in Atlanta, Ga...". Then he basically says as u got that car/Rabbit and put some wheels on it, put some beat in it, trick it out, but after u ride in it for awhile.... now u tired of it and u wanna upgrade to a Cadillac. The cycle continues.

Shit was genius and a super dope album!!

"Pink & Blue" was my/is my shit my on there. The strings on it are crazy!

with that it just got better, whether true or not

While I really enjoy the album some of it could have been stuff that didn't fit on Idlewild. SLIML has RD on it. Its one of the first things I think about.

Its not about genitals its about the 'left hand path' and vibrate is about meditating.

Go back and listen

Look at the songs:

She lives in my lap

Vibrate

Love hater

Draculas wedding

What is above?

And what is below?

Think about it

Theres a darker reason why he has been stagnate for so long.

Drugs, depression and regrets.

Some else mentioned they won a grammy for this

You put the pieces together....
