Overall, I'd give it a solid 7/10 , decent balance of a love story and man v.s man/man finds himself and confronts the bad guy. It was alright, I'd rather rent it or bring my girl to it if she begged me. It definitely SHITS on the previous Spiderman trilogy.
I assumed the dude at the end was Norman Osborne. I liked the movie definitely better than Toby Maguire's version. Only thing I thought was dumb was him having to use web shooters instead of natural web production. Otherwise good movie.

The movies was cool but correction "The Amazing spider-man" shits on only 1&3 it doesn't shit on Spiderman 2.
I would call this a fair assessment. I'm a fan of spiderman no doubt but I think dark knight series is a lot better and saved the Batman franchise.

It's the other way around.It was dumb for the first 3 to have him use organic webs which would be impossible.If it was possible then the web would have to be developed in his abdomen like a real spider and shoot out of his ass (no homo). The web shooters are in the comics and show's his intelligence and scientific expertise which was missing from the first 3 movies.

You must not be a fan of Spiderman because the web shooters have been around from the beginning and in every version of Spiderman...him creating the webbing in his body was some gay shit they did for the movie...many of Spiderman's best fighting moments came when his web shooters either ran out or were damaged in a fight and he had to think on his feet

katz up in here tripping..that movie was not as good as spiderman 1 or 2...wtf..the only thing good about the movie was the scenes with spiderman and the lizard after that the rest of it was ok..
they rushed him transforming into spiderman, and they also used the same exact tone/ on how his uncle died....peter gets unfarly treated by a guy, 'burgler" comes in roughs up the guy, the guy asked peter to stop him, peter uses the line the guy used on him, walks out. the "burgler" ends up killing his uncle...come on fam...that's not original...that's the samething that happened in this spiderman.
that scene in the spiderman one was better, cuz that nig(peter) went ham right then and there and went after him...this peter waited for days and "some how" found him again....

This movie did not need to be made.
With that said, it wasn't terrible. I enjoyed large parts of it. It actually played out more like a TV show than a major motion picture to me tho. I dunno if that's bad or not really. The personal stuff with Gwen, Uncle Ben, Aunt May, etc. were the highlights. But whenever it had to go into an actual comic book/action/Spider-man realm...the quality suffered.

The movie was necessary and the first 3 were campy.Yes SM2 was very boring.TASM actually captures the atmosphere and character right.Some of you may not like it (then you never liked spider-man to begin with),but it is the best sipdey movie easily.I am glad the mentioned his parents and I expect them to further explain what happened to them in the sequel.I mean it is a better origin movie than Batman Begins and has more action than Ironman.It appears that people already made up their mind to hate it before they even seen it.Just like everyone already has their mind made up that TDKR will be a great movie,even though all of the previews were dry and boring.

I think the previews of TDKR were boring too, but based on the strength of TDK, I think the movie will be good. But if I based my opinion solely on the trailer, I wouldn't be hyped for it at all.
As far as TASM, thought it was much better than the original trilogy. Andrew is a much better actor than Toby, at least at being Spidey . For proof, compare the scenes where he got emotional to his uncle about his dad to Toby getting emotional when MJ broke up with him in 3. Also, I never bought Toby as a teenager. Don't get me wrong, I thought the action was done well. However, the best parts of the original was when the mask was on.
