Am I wrong to think that KRIT will have a better career than Kendrick in the long term?

I guess that makes sense. He gaining a pretty good rep among the people that have been listening though.

I remember when I was trying to put cats on J. Cole right after I first heard The Warm Up but folks wasn't trying to hear it. When he signed with Jay all of sudden people were fans...same with KL, I guess he's gonna have to sign to a big time major before people pay attention.

I'm good with him touring with Macklemore if it can expose him to a broader audience because that's what he needs. Not saying I want a bunch of yuppies trying to "make" KRIT but if they can get him played then that's cool with me.

He's signed to Def Jam bruh.

Yeah...Dead Jam

Call it what u want, it's still a major and still a company that's helped provide many of plaques. It ain't their fault his music ain't crossing over. If he wanted to stay pat with what he's comfortable doing he shouldve just stayed indie.

The purpose of major labels is to broaden the fanbase, increase media attention, develop talent, and distribute content. All of that equals "crossing over" so yeah, it's Def Jam's fault.

How u do all of that with music that doesnt appeal to the masses?

You have good points that's why I usually agree....I think his issue is he thinks he's "selling out" if he conforms to making music for the radio....I think he just has to work through it....I don't think he'll ever be that huge star but I believe he should be a lot more known than he is....too talented not to be....you can't deny that

And he let's that be known plenty of times in his rhymes. Im not sure If he's disappointed in where his career is or not but at some point you would think hes gotta do something considering he's on a major. Usually signing to a major says you want some kind of fame. Maybe the "Just Last Week" record was a sign of that, maybe not. We'll see.

I don't even like Just last week lol....the beat, lyrics, hook and even future were all generic as fuck......hopefully some of these other producers can bring it out of him.....I know he was recently in the studio with Hit Boy and Beat king....he was also in the studio with both Rafael sadiq and Mike Dean

Krit has those consigns but he's not necessarily affiliated with any of those artist....he's not Grand Hustle or MMG.....Bun is a legend but he's not on the level of a Dre, Kanye, Jay, or Wayne as far as popularity and notoriety .....people like to fuck with the winning team.....Krit doesn't play for any team but his own.....he's the nigga who was cool with everyone in high school but didn't run with any of the cliques because he was doing his own thing lol

right, ion know where this thought that tip dropped the ball on him came from

So T.I. is a big enough consign for BOB but not KRIT? Lol

What helped B.O.B. blow up was making all those damn Pop songs with those white chicks. So many white people love that guy because of his pop songs.

I think he will have a decent career like UGK, Too Short, Devin, The Roots ect.. These are the people cosigning him because that is where his career it likely to be. A long career with a few hits but consistency.

Yeah me too. They have been around forever, and there have been multiplatinum artists who can't even get an album released now.

He appeals to people who appreciate quality music for shure

I like Krit so I already know but he has no mainstream appeal

The pop world likes they stars to have personality....and Krit doesn't have one lol

Kendrick Lamar & J.Cole have "personality" ....?

I fuck with krits music heavy but as much as he's made some unbelievable music I don't think he's touched the level kdot got with 'sing about me I'm dying of thirst'.. which is sublime. That's not to day krit aint got it in him to do it. Ill ride around all day listening to krit tho where kdots music Is more for a certain mood.

Also saying krit don't have personality is the stupidest thing I heard in quite a while
