Am I the only one who is unimpressed by anything from "Teflon Don"?

"Super High" was ok (bad choice for a 1st single) but dudes acting like BMF and MC Hammer(just announced to be put on album) are hot. No they're not. They have good beats but his rapping on those tracks is horrible. Gucci has the exact same formula and people on here talk shit for that. Why is it that we're giving a pass to the same guy who penned "Mafia Music" writing such subpar shit as these? But of course the excuse is "It bangs hard in the whip". Smh, Honestly

Most of Jeezy's discography>> BMF, MC Hammer

Those songs are garbage. At least on "Lose My Mind" (which has a great beat) Jeezy makes an attempt to form a coherent flow. Smh @ how much the bar has been lowered

I thought I was the only one who felt this way, but I could've made this thread. This n*gga knows how to pick beats but I have yet to hear him spit a hot 16. He ain't that nice to be getting all this love. This n*gga's compared to Biggie by people that knew Big, but other than being fat I can't see the resemblance. Rapwise Big was in a whole nother universe. For a southern emcee Ross' straight but that ain't saying much. I don't care about him fraudulent ways, his lying, him being a CB4, fake a*s n*gga. I just listen to the music, but Ross ain't that nice to me.

Cosign. Then that track wasn't even that hot. I thought jeezy woulda been above that because it's definantly room for both him and Gucci in the game. Didn't he diss OJ in that song too?

yep
he sure did

I don't know about ya'll, but "BMF" and "MC Hammer" remind me of Jeezy's "Trap or Die" when it first dropped. Ross isn't spazzing out lyrically (he isn't that type of rapper), but those songs are hard.

This n*gga Ross relies heavily on production, featuresa and a fake image. A while ago I asked his fans to quote me hot lines and they couldn't. It was one n*gga who quoted a verse that was hot in his mind, but that sh*t was kinda weak. This n*gga can have all the production and features he want, but he still mediocre to me. All his sh*t sounds the same. His subject matter is way limited. This n*gga is a one dimensional rapper and to make matters worse he a character. Even when he's interviewed he stays in character. lol @ This n*gga saying "I need atleast one mill to function" and saying he gets money outside of rap. lol @ "The truth is far more sinister". I'm sorry but this n*gga's a clown and that don't matter none to me, but he ain't got no redeaming qualities. He ain't that nice.....

I think "Mafia Music 2" is nice lyrically. There's some nice imagery in that song.

I respect your opinion but rappers like G-Rap, AZ and Nas, Rae and Ghost flipped that mafioso theme way better and that's 15 years ago.

I see you compared a few tracks of that Albert Anastasia to Trap Or Die. When Jeezy came out with that sh*t that trap rapstyle was fairly new. TI did it, but from another, more laidback perspective. Jeezy birthed some of these new rappers that emulated his style and his sound. When Rocko came out I thought it was a Jeezy track I didn't know yet. Jeezy's not the most talented rapper but he can make tracks. He's authentic, while Ross is not. Line for line Ross is nicer than Jeezy, but he will never drop a TM101 or even an Inspiration (which was his worst album).

That's partially the reason why I like Ross's songs. The feel of some of his songs is reminiscent of the kind of stuff that Nas and AZ were doing in '95/'96 with the smooth laid back production and the content. Ross's rhyme schemes and metaphors are nowhere near as crazy as Nas and AZ, but songs like "Mafia Music 2", the "Maybach Music" series and the first "Mafia Music" reminds me of the type of music Nas and AZ used to do. I also think this is where the Biggie comparisons come from, b/c Biggie was on that mafiosos sound back then too and had toned down his delivery to a more laid back style over smooth, sometimes cinematic production. That's where I think the comparisons to Ross and Biggie stop though, because Biggie was more skilled.

I'm not comparing "BMF" and "MC Hammer" to the Trap or Die mixtape, but the song "Trap or Die."

Ross was comin harder n/h with the shit on DTR. Plus, the "gucci" style of production used on MC Hammer and BMF sounds abrasive. That shit don't even sound like music.

Maybach Music 2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BMF+MC Hammer

In Cold Blood>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BMF+MC Hammer

Usual Suspects>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BMF+MC Hammer

Gotti Family>>>BMF + MC Hammer

Na, but the way niggas hyping those songs up you'd think the verses were raw.

Whatever, I guess I'm a minority if "It bangs in the whip" isn't a good enough excuse for me to appreciate lazy/subpar writing
