if u really dig into the culture(not the mainstream outliers), there have been a few more great white rappers than that.

hip hop is an offspring of reggae and blues so its not easy for outsiders to capture that soul/depth that is necessary to gain respect in the hip hop arena.

Funny cuz half the black rappers that are successful today werent hungry from the hood like that, and were normal guys like you and me who went to college and either graduated or dropped out with mom working two jobs. Drake J Cole Kanye and etc.

The hood rapper aint in the forefront like that anymore.

Black rappers no longer automatically = the hood post 2k9.

the majority of white people interested in the industry aren't trying to be producers or rappers they trina own the conglomerate that owns the label or be an exec on the label.

Nah, it's the truth. White people mess up rap because they take the blood, sweat, and tears out of it. They try to make it extra technical or some miracle spiritual bullshit or their subject matter is off. Like dun said earlier, this shit seems like a game or a job to them. Not to mention, very few can stay on beat and very few possess a voice that projects the lyrics on stage. Most of them are whiny voice mixed with struggle rhythm.

A real rapper to me is a Beanie Sigel, Nas kind of nigga that has that street knowledge, pain and delivery in a sense that it makes you naturally feel what he's talking about. Their music truly connects with the listener. Even if you didn't experience what they're going through, you feel it through the mood and tone of the music on some organic shit.

White people be counting how many syllables, punchlines and metaphors they have and think it's some kind of math formula that makes you a dope rapper. They need to stop trying to make the intangible, tangible. There is no mechanical format to this shit.

White people make it mechanical when rapping is mostly organic and not force like listen to the song with Jay z Scarface and Beanie sigel "Somehow someway" this shit hits the core of your soul you can feel what all three are saying.

I'm the thread starter. I forgot Vanilla Ice. I guess you can add him to the list. Whoever nosigned Rick Rubin is an idiot. Rick Rubin produced some of the GOAT albums in the 80s most notably LL Cool J's Radio, Rubn DMC's Raising Hell and The Beatsie Boy's License to Ill. So you can't leave him out. I gotta give props where props are due.

Half of the people you listed are horrible and the other half I listed in the original post. But you even proved my point. For the sake of argument, let's say that the rappers you listed are A-list rappers (which, let's be honest with each other, they're not A-list rappers except maybe The Beasties and Eminem) Shouldn't there be hundreds of A-list rappers by now? I mean whites comprise 72% of the population in America and they certainly listen to rap because they're the ones buying it.

How come there's not more good white rappers? You can't say its reverse racism because Blacks don't have the power or the connections to make or break a white rapper.
