400 degreez would be a classic album to me
it didn't have the hype of 2 of rap's biggest superstars behind it
and it was largely responsible for a whole region's dominance in the game

So your taking away from GRODT because of EM and DRE. Its not like Em wrote 50's verses

GRODT led to 50 dominating the music scene for about two years.

The hype for 50 was mostly created by himself with the mixtapes and the beef with JA and the 9 bullets.

50s verses wasn't on no new or groundbreaking shit is my point
so when you take away the hype of gettin shot, beefing with a top tier artist at the time, and having dre and em backing him
what do you have?
a good album

It put gangster rap back on the map. At the time it was alot of pop in hip hop. The production was off the muthaf***** chain and 50 came with that "slow flow" and just merked that joint. That shit was hot. Hip hop need that grimy shit just as much as they need lyricism. We need F*** the Police just as much as we need I used to lover Her. GRODT is the only reason some people still even mess with 50. If it weren't for that album, 50 wouldn't even be relevant.

So what you're saying is there arent really that many classic albums? Rappers are still on the same shit and theres not that many groundbreaking lyircs in what many people consider classics?

Whats groundbreaking about 400 degreez? is it just because of the south factor?

50 made beefing cool again for a minute lol im not trying to sound like a stan hear but i think GRODT is classic i just remember everyone listening to it and I dont theres been an album like that since College Dropout.

The beats were bangin', and the production was superb
the gun-cock/gunshot on the kick and snare on "Heat" was some genius shit from Dr. Dre
The sequencing with the order of the tracks was good
the album cover was a good concept too....

and Nate Dogg did one of his better hooks on "21"
