It all goes back to the video that was posted above with Boyce Watkins. Black people have never really been included in the Oscars anyway. Sure there have been Black Oscar winners but the Academy has never made any type of minority there preference. Like I said before this is a white industry and this isn't me being racist it just is what it is. Women in general aren't really given their due by the Academy do its not just us being left out. This us why people are saying that instead of trying to fit into their world create your own. It's no secret that every year Alfre Woodard hosts an Oscar party at her house for the African American actresses in Hollywood because she knows that there is not going to be representation at the actual event. Blacks getting mad at not being included in the Oscars is the equivalent of white Ppl being mad at not being included at the NAACP image awards. It's ludicrous because the event is not honoring them. Here's a thought....instead of bitching and complaining about not being included in their world..create your own. The Indians felt the same way about Hollywood so instead of complaining they created Bollywood which is a million to billion dollar industry. Al Sharpton is going in the wrong direction on this one.

I never really understood why anyone expects Hollywood to pander to Blacks or any other minority. Sure we watch their movies like white people, but white people outnumber and outspend us. So it should make perfect sense to everyone that Hollywood would cater to them. That's why Tyler Perry does have the right idea in trying to make a Black analog to Hollywood. Bruh...I never said they should go to Bollywood...I merely stated that would be an interesting path to go on seeing as how they would be an entirely different culture and way of life outside of Hollywood. I didn't state anything about Nollywood because truthfully I am not really familiar with it but back to my original question. Instead of trying to fit into somebody else's world why not create our own?
