Disagree wholeheartedly. Shit is corrupt as hell, better for the rich and famous, and has bullshit sentences for crime.

If you're black or hispanic, then hell fuckin no. Every state prison is +70% filled with us, even though we're far from the majority or people in these places. Every encounter with authorities is a potential death risk.

If u falsely accuse someone the prosecutor can go after u

Also if u win the loser pays ur court bills

All u need is 3 jurors and lawyers dont lie for u

all this in Germany

This is true here in america too. You can also go to jail for knowingly falsely accusing someone. The prosecutors have and will charge you for that and a form of victim restitution will be applied to your fines.

Also if you get a court appointed lawyer in any case if you are convicted the charge for your lawyer is added onto your court fee's but if you win your case and aren't convicted and do not take a plea deal in any way the court pays for your lawyer fees.

no....it puts too many people away for too long for nonviolent crimes. it criminalizes acts that need not be criminalized, the government should not be policing morality.... many laws, especially federal ones, are vague... prosecutors have way too much power.... the death penalty is barbaric and there's always going to be the possibility that innocent men and women may be put to death. mandatory minimum sentences, deny judges discretion during sentencing. politics have also weakened the legal system. too many legislators want to be known as being " tough on crime, so they push for longer sentences on crimes that have already harsh sentences.... tort reform has reduced our rights as america citizens from filing a lawsuit against someone

who caused you harm, and our right to receive full compensation for your losses and suffering, now that the prison industry has become privatized law officials are locking people up for a profit and theres little interest in rehabilitation of criminals or prevention of more crime.

we doing better than a lot of countries..... however the us has the largest prison population in the world and most of our prison population consists of nonviolent, small time offenders who have fallen behind bars as a consequence to the nonsensical drug war, mandatory minimum sentencing, socioeconomic issues associated with poverty and racism, bad laws, etc..... the system needs major reform.

summed it up pretty good

The system is very corrupt. But what do you expect when the system is paid per the prisoner. To much power in the hands of an over burdened system. As well.. this system is all about up holding the law by all means. Not for the best interest and providing true fair justice.

it's not the greatest, but i would take the "innocent until proven guilty" mentality over the "guilty until proven innocent" one anyday.
