Ok my father's from there and I speak it as well and that term has been out of use for a while now. It's similar to how African Americans stopped using the term coloured to describe themselves.

Off topic It's coincidental you're of Aruban and Surinamese descent and I'm of Antillian and Surinamese descent.

i got Jamaican/Haitian too

props on the info tho

I'm a big Afro Beat fan myself and I got a decent amount of Fela, Femi, Seun Kuti and Angelic Kidjo on my Ipod. I like Antibalas also but don't have a lot of there stuff yet but I like this joint here along with many others.

After looking through the thread i feel kinda old. LOL. I like more of the jazzy stuff as opposed to a lot of the stuff posted in here. But I did here some new artist I've never heard of that I did like and will check for because of you guys.

"Ifunanya" in Igbo parlance means to behold something or somebody with the naked eye and in this case with the song a pretty woman; "ifu" means to 'see' and "anya" means 'eye' .. .

PSquare actually attended the same college with my sis but dropped out and went into showbiz in the noughties .. .

I got a very good Surinam friend, Mohammed who's into Riddim reggae

GOAT thread as I'm still chilling in the Mother'lan

Old track and maybe I posted it before but had to post it.

Same as the other thread. IDGAF if it's old or if I've posted it before.
