There's nothing wrong with learning another language. My problem with Hispanics is they & whites are allowed to covertly discriminate against blacks by putting, "must be bilingual" on a lot of job applications.

I know maybe 3 Mexicans who don't speak Spanish. I know countless blacks who dont. And it's never on a job application that just as many whites will likely apply to.

Always on some regular ass job. Language is definitely used as a tool for both advancement and oppression of people. But teaching a language that wont be used? Fuck for?

1) Africans lived in Europe long before any White

2) The whites that came to Europe were functional illiterates

3) They settled in areas that were either in close proximity to Africans or in the same society

4) Were taught/civilized including having their languages refined

5) After they were civilized they killed/chased away civilizers

6) Rinse and repeat across europe from briton to russia to greece to rome

Language has the ability to set up cultural barriers.

Now take for example Black communities. In the avg Black community only one languag is spoken, English. English is the global business language so if you know English you can open up and operate a successful store in a Black community whether you're Black or not.

Now when you go into Chinese, Indian, Mexican, P.R. neighborhoods, in order to open up a business and be successful, you have to speak the language of the people who live there. Your signs have to be in those languages, everybody from the owner to the janitor has to be able to communicate with those around them.

So if you only speak English, or if you speak english and some other language that isn't the common vernacular, you can't own and operate a successful business there. guess what this means? The people who own and operate businesses will more than likely be the people who speak that language, not a whole lot of room for outsiders.

Now what if Black people chose a language like Swahili? What if Black people insisted on Swahili being spoke as a first language and not english? Now in order to do business in a Black neighborhood your signs have to be in Swahili, your police officers have to be able to speak Swahili, your school teachers have to speak swahili, the doctors in the community hospitals have to speak swahili. You think the average Mexican, Arab or white person or Korean speaks Swahili, you think they gonna go spend the money to learn Swahili? No. Language is a cultural barrier that allows you to protect yourselves from invaders. This is why european and arab slavers insisted on teaching slaves english and forbidding african languages or cultural practices.

Learning an African language is maneuvers.

I must admit, this is a very good point here.

Reminds me of that feeling of walking past a foreigner speaking their native tongue to another and I don't know a word they're saying. There is power in that. The thought of our ancestors original culture and traditions white washed out of our race. All we have now is whats left from being taught a slave culture for generations.Which has left us with a huge identity crisis as a people. Coincidentally, Phil Valentine has been promoting this very thing, with Swahili in fact, for years. I see no reason why it isn't worth a shot, niggas just gotta do it.... which is where the problem is.
