I got into the only 2 schools I applied to (both top 5 in US)... One had early admission, so I applied and was accepted within a month. But I didn't care... I think people waste A LOT of money on college. Most states have really good state schools which have guaranteed admissions from state community colleges. I honestly think that's the best route... But people want the prestige and NOT the education. Some people are INSULTED at the thought of community college... BUT if it had an agreement with a prestigious state school... Why not? Especially if you're saving money. Plus kids coming from a lot of public schools CANNOT compete with students from prestigious prep schools like Sidwell (where President's kids go), Exeter, Andover, etc. TRUST ME there is a HUGE difference! But too many people worry about keeping their kids in Js and iCrap but wouldn't spend a time for a top private prep school. If they didn't send their kids to those old money prep schools, then they shouldn't be bitching about admissions... I know NYC drug dealers that sent their kids to prep schools and Ivy League schools to break the cycle... I don't condone or endorse criminal activities BUT at least they weren't hustling all the way backwards... I side eye the f@ck out of "parents" who spend tons of money on toys and clothes and nothing on books... Then they're all surprised when they kids end up like...

@EtherealAmotekun I'm sorry but I couldn't find any other way to express how kids turn out when their parents don't teach them sh!t, but make sure they got them new Js though...
Its obvious this is a situation where middle class folks are offering upper class people gifts to try and raise their kid's stature in life.
Poor folks aren't trying to get their kid into Yale using cookies and bribes that's for sure, the only way a poor kid gets in there is with a scholarship or a tremendous co-sign.
Most those "ivy league" schools are just breeding grounds for elitists anyway, kids don't get in because their the best, they get in because Mommy or Daddy went there and Grandpa also went there, you know...being generational old money.

Actually, the Ivy League is an athletic association and lower income students don't have to pay anything OR take out loans. They receive a "full ride" but it's not a scholarship in the traditional sense because they're not based on grades. Athletes DO receive athletic scholarships though... Some schools may seem elitist, but I've seen more people with a stick up their asses from *regular* schools. Wealthy people are waaaay more laid back than bourgeois wannabes... The people pressed over labels/designer clothes/showing off are waaaaay more pressed. People who ain't got sh!t to prove are far more easy going... 1 in 3 students at Ivy League schools get financial aid.
