I got another homie who got 40 years and we the exact same age, he did everything but kill the nigga robbed. 40 joints. They offered him 10 and he boxed it up. No evidence, he's never coming home. The stress will kill him long before he hits 75 and it breaks my heart. I love that nigga, but he not built for prison.

This is what I don't understand.

I could see if you're innocent and want to risk a trial..........but you know you're guilty and don't take a 10yr plea???

'Starting to think people get a false impression of court by what they see on tv.

That Law & Order shit isn't real life.

I mean, innocent men go to prison all the time.........so you've got even less of a chance of getting off if you're guilty unless the evidence is shaky and you've got a good lawyer.

Even then, the deck's gonna be stacked against you if your'e black because there's always an assumption of guilt.

Fucked up situation either way.

I got a homie who just got sentenced to 45 years, and we both in our 30s. He said he could either take it to trial, lose, and get life, or plead out to the 45. The only positive thing he could take from it was he could possibly see his grandkids.

45 years of state time is like trying to contemplate the universe.

A 45yr plea deal???

Fucked up, but.........if he's not innocent...........he should take it.

If he is innocent........idk, that's a tough call.

Anything can happen where evidence might come up during the course of his sentence that can exonerate him, but that doesn't happen for everybody.

Other than that, only other thing he can do is try to negotiate a better plea deal.

Try to talk it down to 30yrs or something.

45 years, 2 bodies. Vs life in prison w/o parole. His baby mom's cousin told on him.

I would eat those years too, god forbid. With a sentence that long the possibility of something happening to you or catching more charges inside is high, but at least with an exit date you got some kinda hope.

It depends on your age too. If you over 30 with that kind of time you done. You gonna come out a withered old institutionalized man.

Jailhouse ass Lawyer will have you thinking you OJ out here but all people want to see is the outside, so they neglect the fact that the jailhouse lawyer giving you advice is in the same cell youre in on a lesser charge and they can't bond out. If they were that smart they won't be sitting next to you . People beat cases all the time, I beat a couple cases myself, thirsty ass cops make mistakes more often than you think.

If all else fails and is looking ugly in the middle of the trial, you can always fire your lawyer and start the entire case all over again. You can also go to a suppression hearing and see how the prosecution is going to attack.

But most of the time you'll see everything you need to see at discovery.

For sure. I'd be coming out at 78, but it would still be better then dying in there

I'm not too sure about that. Under 50 years in prison is a long time. If you make it to the end, I'm sure you got a little respect in there and being in there that long, you might want to die there. Fuck it. Family gone. No where to live after that long. Good luck on a job too.

Shawshank redemption illustrates this perfectly.

There was a video about the dude in New York who did all of his time for a body when he got out he looks lost in the world. I actually felt sorry for him.
