I been doing some research about past history. With everything going on in the 60 era with racism, assassinations & conspiracy theories. The 60s was a creepy time

Especially in the South

I need to talk with some elders to get their point of view on the 60s but my uncle said it was also a good time. But from my point of view, Sh*ts was damn near a frighten time from researches. I'm fortunate & blessed that I didn't have to endure that.

Most of the older black people I talk to say it was a good time because of all the black businesses and how close the black community was at the time.

@deadeye my uncle said the same thing too. He said back then they had a whole street that was close to downtown that was nothing but black businesses

Yeah, it's crazy because........hearing stories like that...........it makes you wonder if we weren't actually better off back then.

I'm starting to think we were.

Simply because when you listen to people talk about all the things we "need to do " ..........we already had those things in place back then: our own schools, businesses, movie theatres, Negro League baseball, going to HBCU's, a sense of family within black neighborhoods, etc.

Also, I'm more inclined to believe the older people because......since they've actually lived in both eras.......they're in the best position to see the pros and cons of those time periods.
