@Cain where, what, and how do I get started to get in that field

If you don't mind helping a bro out

yea, if this ATL shit don't work out i might consider witching fields too, but i just feel 10 years in with no degrees working for a global company like mines, i need to make a strong push for operations first.....only thing is everybody on the ops level has to travel....

my only thing that keeps me procrastinating about making the switch is that im very remedial when it comes to the tech world

Most people I observe that are in the tech field seemto have a knack for it that came naturally with no training

i do tons of tech stuff at my job, no certs..which is awesome for my company, cuz they don't have to pay me for it as long as i'm on the site level.....which is why i'm making a serious push to either the operations level or i'm just gonna dip.. the IT level of our job is kinda crappy, the dude who's in charge of my IT team, while me and him work well together now (him the tech, me the site rep), i highly doubt he'd welcome me into his division, dude is territorial as hell, and he knows we'd clash daily if we were peers

@Cain what do you do for a living, you seem pretty tech savvy

I need a new career

I work in the telecom field moreso on the telecom construction. I'm a senior level OSP (outside plant) Engineer meaning I design copper/coaxial/fiber optic networks for telecom firms. Going to be going into ISP(inside plant) engineering aka IT soon.

OSP pays well and you learn the backbone of the industry. Lucent cert's are good to have in the OSP world

ISP pays better with certifications ie CCNA, CCIE, CCNP

the company i work for now only pay their IT guys 47k, I make more so that's a no go staying here

Im hearing this area is shit when it comes to pay, so if I switch, i'll definitely be relocating
