Yo, anyone with kids ever seen that show Tinga Tinga Tales. It's basically this Aesop's Fables type show for kids that was created in Africa using African stories with a multiracial but mostly black voice. It's actually prety good show. It would be nice to get some African/Black shit for kids that wasn't about animals, but you gotta take what you can get.
It's a good show, but you can tell its some nigga shit. First, the animals are always singing and dancing and I don't mean in the Disney musical sense. I mean like if any random thing pops up that sounds like a beat, all the animals will start shucking and jiving. Shit is hilarious.
Then a bunch of the animals are just jackasses. Like in the warthog episode, this dude was just going around snappin on everyone for no reason. He tried to get in the water hole and the Hippo was there (one of the few characters that sounds like an African American woman, shots fired). She told him there was no room. Dude was like "There would be room if yo ass wasn't so fat." All the other animals were like "Ohhhhhh! Dammmmn!" In another scene the hyena was laughing about something and this dude just rolls up like "Nigga, why you always laughing? You too ugly for all that." It was basically a whole episode of that with him getting horribly disfigured at the end because he insulted the lion and the lion chased him into the porcupine's quills and walked off like "That's what you get you disrespectful lil shit."
On top of all that, there are supposed to be morals to all the stories, but sometimes there just aren't. Like in the frog episode, he could originally sing very well and the birds didn't like that because it was their thing. So they came up with a way to ruin his voice and it worked. So, I'm waiting for the moral of the story, but it didn't come. The other animals went to the birds like "That's messed up that ya'll did him like that." And the birds were like "Singing is our shit. Fuck that nigga." And the episode ended.
