I love the fact that we have posters that can go toe-to-toe with the Atheists because they been getting too numerous and brolic.

well, they were supposedly made as adults, at least i'm guessing. without any real life experience, why would eve's decision-making have such a dramatic effect? it would seem without a childhood, god would have to give them a certain personality without them having the years to form their own.

Why are the believers acting so sensetive in this thread? It seems like an honest question from someone who is genuinely curious. I'm starting to see that most of the believers are getting away from affiliation with mainstream/organized religion. That's how I am. With mainstream Christianity the Adam and Eve story is depicted exactly the way the threadstarter was inquiring about. The thing is, There is so much potential for misunderstanding that no one can give you a quick answer to a question like this. What quick answer to a Bible question is good enough to appease an agnostic anyway?

Sure a few posters will touch on the allegorical interpretaion of this story, Initially I thought why doesn't someone go ahead and try to break it down for him? but in order to make sense of Biblical things there has to be some degree of dedication to learning it, which the threadstarter clearly lacks

I still see so many posters that imply that they have a very deep definitive understanding of the scriptures, and they always criticize people for their misunderstanding but never elaborate on their interpretation.......and as a result, nobody knows what it is they believe. "my understanding is the right one, maybe I'll tell you about it one day" SMH

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:27-28

theillestrator, unfortunalely it's very hard to give you just one slice unless your willing to attempt to take a crack at the whole loaf.......allegorically speaking.

PEACE

the adam and eve story is jus a concept not to be taken literally, it explains to the initiates that in perfection, there is death or no growth...before people tried to manipulate and control the masses, stories like this were not to be taken literally, but rather as personified concepts

Maybe i shouldn't be surprised, but the shear number of posters that assert the story of Adam and Eve is just allegory is surprising.
