Pat Robertson Blames Vegas Shooting on People Who ‘Disrespect’ Trump, National Anthem
Televangelist Pat Robertson claimed on Monday that the attack on a Las Vegas country music festival last night is connected to people who kneel before the flag and disrespect the country.
Robertson appeared on The 700 Club, where he argued that violence is sweeping the nation due a lack of “biblical authority” and people who denounce President Trump all the time. Robertson specifically alluded to the president’s feud against NFL players who kneel during the national anthem to protest racial injustice and political division.
“Violence in the streets, ladies and gentlemen. Why is it happening? The fact that we have disrespect for authority; there is profound disrespect for our president, all across this nation they say terrible things about him. It’s in the news, it’s in other places. There is disrespect now for our national anthem, disrespect for our veterans, disrespect for the institutions of our government, disrespect for the court system. All the way up and down the line, disrespect.”
Investigators have identified the shooter, though his motives have not yet been clarified. Even so, Roberston declared today that “until there is biblical authority… the people run amok.”
