the culture vulture argument is null.

i get the concept and i even agree somewhat.

but if every art form is taken and grafted from people of color.

by that logic all that means is that people of color will continue to create new expressions of art and

the "culture vultures" will continue to do what they do.

so don't get angry.... just go create some new shit and keep movin.

so the moving of society and creativity is put on our shoulders while someone can sit by and wait to come and steal it?

are black people just welcomed in modern day rock? or do we have to work our way up?

its different if you were talking protecting...but you saying give it away and create something else......

ole part of the problem ass fukka

black people are alchemist by default..

we took the worst food you can feed someone and made it a delicacy that some call soul food.

we took our worst conditions and created some of the most beautiful music and stories out of it.

once again,, where ever you plant the seed it will grow. so no matter what black people will continue

to create new forms of expression because thats what we do, thats what we have always done.

the original needs nothing to copy from.

that creativity came from necessity and survival.

the art came from expression.

but we need to keep it moving? i dont follow

why steal from those you deem as inferior?

your way of thinking wont last on even the most creative person or people.

who can properly create with someone on their heels?

this argument is not going to lead anywhere because you are ok with crumbs and keeping the boss happy while his boss owns the bakery. they eating off you and your creation while you die trying to keep it moving and turning the other cheek.

at what point do you stand up for your creation?

you know nevermind.....

I didn't say we shouldn't stand up and state the obvious. I still say the king of rock n roll is jimi hendrix which is obvous to me but some others may disagree.

the point of what i was saying isn't black people should just move on..

what i said was black people WILL move on, because history has proven so.

moving on is after that fact.

we should move on because that what we want to do...not because we was forced out and watered down and made to look like fools.

bruh....i am in the center of europe right now.....i am watching swiss kids respect hiphop more than kids in my old hood.

think about that....

its not about moving on...

most people are looking at this like...if white people come and take it then it musta been worth something. yet yu are not benefiting from the worth.

jayz, diddy, and 5 combined still aint worth a fraction of what hiphop has done for just 1 major label.

i'm not taking about that, i'm talking about history.

specifically hip hop is a black genre,

at one point rock n roll was a black genre, before it even had a name it was black music.

when white boys started copying it, you know the rest.

now did black people stop making that kind of music? no

where they forced out ? no not really, what they did was come out with some shit even doper than the last time.

thats what i'm talkin about.

you can have this shit cause it's corny now that you on it, i'm doing this now, and this is the shit. the new shit.

us moving on is still just surviving.

that is why we have no gauge on greatness and quality and classic albums seem to be a thing of the past and one hit wonders rise like yeast.

maybe its just me and my experiences.....but i am not ok with just surviving and knowing i have to strength to create something that can circle the globe before i get a propers night sleep yet i am struggling to make car payments on a 2016 hyundai sonota.

we have to do better and require more from those that want apart of what we have.

*stepz off soapbox but paces angrily waiting to step back up*

Like J Cole said. He look on I tunes under Jazz and seen nothing but white people. This culture is for everyone to enjoy, but its rules to it. If my family opens up our house for people on hard times. Yes they are all welcome. But it's still our house. You can't disrespect us on it. Everyone can participate in hip hop. But they not going to make it pop and support their agenda, while making us the minority and under rated in this music genre. But this is more about respect than race.

history speaks for itself.

you can argue that the roots of almost every culture go back to what we call black people around the world not just in africa,

so just by reviewing history you will see that whatever black people start others come along and take on as their own.

that doesn't mean that blacks should be docile, don't misunderstand what i'm saying

what i'm saying is that the seed planters of every culture will continue to create. like always.

Yeah, but everything we create gets stolen, or it gets exploited. It's tiresome to keep creating and standing idly by as it gets decimated. I went to a jazz show recently and had white people lookin at me crazy. I'm like "Bitch, we created this shit. I should be looking at y'all muthafuckas crazy." Smh. We keep getting phased out of our own shit. It's annoying. There's not one white jazz musician on the level of a Coltrane, Davis, or an Ellington. Just like there will never be a white counterpart of a Rakim, or a Kool G, Pac, Nas, KRS, etc.

i agree with what you're saying thats why i side with people like lord jamar, killer mike, david banner etc...

i think we are on agreement but the point that i'm making is different than the point you're making.

the jest of what i'm saying is this.. black folks have the ability to create new styles/genres of artistic expression.

having that ability is the difference.

now what is done with that ability is another story.

you sooooo missed the point.

this is bigger than rap but it needs to start somewhere.

this small little crack is all thats needed to weaken the damn...

then its another flood.

dont know about you...but imma protect mine and still create because of want not because of need.

the true trendsetters, taste makers, and culture creators will have the last say no matter what so don't get what i'm saying twisted.

because eventually we'll create some shit that they can't copy.

once the collective conscious level rises, which it is slowly not much but slowly,

then the styles will change as well because it all starts in the mind.

once the mental self awareness rises then it will reflect in the music

and that music won't be able to be duplicated because it is the dna of the people.

Poor example. Wu sampled and probably paid for those sound bits. They didn't take over martial art film industry. Hollywood tried to do that. I don't think black people have the power to take something that not ours.

A genetic study done by researchers from all over the world: China, Japan, U.S.A. U.K. and other countries, and published in 2001; definitively answered the question of Chinese origins. The findings were that the original Chinese were 100% pure Black African, with absolutely no outside admixture - But here again, we are talking about the original Black Chinese, modern Chinese are quite different.

then even from a european perspective the moors ushered in the renaissance.
