It definitely crippled us. It took us away from an independent, self sufficiency leaning reality to a , let them fix it, I need a job, a degree, and picket sign mentality.

Black Students always fared better under Black teachers. Even if the technical expertise was not up to snuff. The self respect and care they rendered unto the students would make them a lot better psychologically to compete with others.

Starts at home i agree it did hamper us in some form and fashion as mentioned above but the bigger impact is the breakdown of the family and its affect on the psyche of our youth.
