Aaliyah vs. Brandy vs. Monica

Brady sold the most records and had the most hits. Monica has had a great career also. But I think it's between Brandy and Aaliyah so if you take their best albums Vs each other:

Never Say Never Vs One In A Million

Than Aaliyah wins. Yes Brandy has a better voice and Monica out sung both of them but If I had to choose I'd go with:

2. Brandy

3. Monica

Both Brandy and Monica fell off hard musically where as Aaliyah was getting better and better with age. Brandy and Monica had to do a song together to get a #1 hit and yes it was a huge massive grammy award winning hit but Aaliyah did it on her own with "Try Again" which became the 1st song to go #1 strictly off airplay. Again Aaliyah is the female "Young" Goat. That's why she was the 1st Princess of Hip Hop/RnB and has had more people copy her style (Ciara, Ashanti, Rhianna) than Brandy or Monica so Aaliyah is the most influenical of the 3.

when brandy n monica did dat video togetha, it always seemed like brandy had a booga n her nose. dat shit always threw me off about her. aaliyah was that bitch, so sad she died. but Monica was dat female dat always seemed like that fine ass bitch errbody in tha hood was tryin to get w/. she just seem like wifey material, i always lubbded dat sexy ass mafucka. Brandy worked with great producers and song writers (i'm not sure how much writing she does). She made great albums.

Monica is clearly the strongest vocally.

Aaliyah was the best dancer of course. Her vocals were starting to come around some more and her last album was straight fire.

I was so sad when she passed because I had just really started becoming a fan. I bought the last disc and was amazed. I was very much pleased with the direction she was heading in. I think I actually found out she passed when I stopped playing her Cd that day and turned on the radio. Tragic.

i wasn't really a fan of any of them actually, but i will choose aaliyah, the production for her music was awesome and she sure could move.

Stop the presses. Aaliyah could sing she didnt yell or belt very often, but she had great control and tone. Check out her a cappellas on youtube. Brandy now sounds a lot better than Brandy then. Monica has always had a great voice. Vocally none of them are seeing Monica.

Overall I like Aaliyah, because of her style. It was different from a lot of her peers at the time.

Brandy was the best all around, she could sing and dance. Monica has the best vocals but isn't a great performer, Aaliyah is a great performer but her vocals were kind of weak. With that said, they are all better than the bullshit out now (Keysha Cole,Keri Hilson,etc).

...Co-signature, talent-wise, though Aaliyah gets the nod from me because I was and still am a big Timbaland fan, and he gave her (And Ginuwine, for that matter) some sick beats. I like songs and albums from all three of them, though.

Also, when you mentioned Keyshia Cole, I thought of that infamous video of hers 'singing' 'His Eye is on the Sparrow (I won't post the video, as I'm sure ya'll have seen it by now).' LOL

I don't like Brandy at all and she has fallen off and hanging on her brother so I see no win for her, So now it's down to Monica and Aaliyah, I like both but if I had to go with someone I would have to be Monica. I mean she still makes good music even thought she not that great of a performer. Aaliyah career was cut short so who knows what she would be capable of now.

...She would be capable of making sure that Ciara, Ashanti, and many (Not all, as many successful musicians have 'clones') the other cute, light-skinned, non-singers that came up after her death wouldn't have careers.

Aaliyah hands down.... Then Monica simply because she can sing her ass off.

I 2nd dat. I have bought all their albums and I always loved Moncia coz she sings wiv such emotion if you don`t hear from her for a few years, you always know whenat has been going on by listening to her albums, song like ain`t gonna cry no more and don`t take it personal etc

Aaliyah 1st album age ain`t nuthing but a number to me is a classic. I feel Aliyah made music way ahead of her time espeically her album One in a million, when I 1st heard it I didn`t like it but it grew on me over the years, 4 page letter, if your girl only knew, one in a million that album was hot.

I alway thought of Brandy as the lesser of the two, and felt she struggled after the 1st album.

To me Aaliyah wins with Moncia a close 2nd and Brandy 3rd

Aaliyah... not because she's dead...but she looked the best, had the best singles had good albums, was the best performer outta the three, and has arguably the 2nd best voice outta the three (behind monica but you can make an argument forher having the best sounding voice)...She has more style than the other two and was more street savvy then the others which is a plus for me...she could switch it up with ease too. Overall IMO she was just better than the other two.

Monica is cool, she has a good voice (argubly the best outta the 3), but aint good at performing and hasn't has a good album since 1995. since the first album she's mainly been a singles artists.

Brandy is alright and is the most consistent, but her semi-raspy voice ain't all that IMO. Its cool, but she done fell off musically....When they all debuted, Brandy seemed to be the one that had the most potential and was gonna go the farthest and have the best career, but really didnt.

So I'd say Aaliyah > Monica > Brandy
