J-Breezy;6877622 said:Does that make us the pinnacle of human evolution? If not what's next for us?
Why did we develop at such a rate that isn't seen by any species anywhere else on earth?
No, we are not the pinnacle of human evolution. We will to continue to evolve but our future evolution may be more self controlled since we are conscious of how it works.
Humans developed higher intelligence because of our disadvantage in hunting. We don't have a speed advantage nor razor sharp canines or claws. We're not that big or powerful either so we had to use our brains. Eating meat fueled our brain growth and we became smart enough to make tools to become more successful.
So eating bears and tigers and lions...gave humans intelligence?? and left the animals dumb..you know they eat other animals too right...why they didn't become intelligent as well??
It wasn't eating meat alone. Again, our physical disadvantage made us smarter. We don't run very fast, we aren't that strong when compared to other animals. We needed our brains to help us to create tools to hunt. Apes are smart enough to create tools. Our tools were used to hunt. We became smarter by creating and using tools.. Using our brains more often.
This kind of workout on our brains and our bodies used up a lot of energy on our part. We had to fuel our bodies with the right nutrition. When we ate more meat, it allowed us to obtain the right nutrition for brain growth to continue.
Animals like lions, tigers and bears don't need to be super intelligent. They're fine at catching prey because of their physical advantage. They evolved to develop greater speed or power.
Folk you just repeated yourself and didn't say anything
again we all are in the food chain...we eat each other..why is it that we humans were the only ones to gain intelligence from eating the food that's in the food chain and not the other animals...very simple question folk
Apes can create tools??? folk stop it..
An ape is smart enough to use a spear now...carry it around with him and use it on another animal...
So an ape can assemble a gun now so..shoot a bow and arrow from 100 ft...

Other animals hunt but they are not at the disadvantage that humans are. Other animals have physical abilities that allow them to successfully hunt and kill without needing to apply their mental abilities as much.
Nutrition is something everybody needs, yes. The RIGHT nutrition fueled our brain growth. It wasn't the sole factor in creating bigger brains.
Those four mechanisms are four ways in which evolution takes place. Do you want me to explain them?

Apes may be smart enough to do these things and that only supports my argument.
They didn't create those things though. They aren't using those tools on a daily basis. A human came along and taught an ape a trick. That's all. Surely, you're smart enough to know the difference.

But they are not at the same level of disadvantage in their environments. Fish are fast enough in the water to catch the food that they need. They don't need their brains AS much.

Meat gave us the nutrition for brain growth but eating meat will not make you more intelligent. You need to use your brain in order to become more intelligent. The nutrition in meat just gives you the energy required to do greater things. Lions eat meat too but they aren't using their brains in the way that early humans were to function and survive. Lions have a physical advantage.

Cognitive
of, relating to, being, or involving conscious intellectual activity (as thinking, reasoning, or remembering)
http://i.word.com/idictionary/cognitive
Crows will lay hard shelled foods on roads and wait on the side for cars to run them over and crack them open.
You would be naive to think that most animals don't have some degree of cognitive ability.

non human apes and other animals like otters use tools as well. Our tool making became more advanced once we began to create for more purposes. For instance, we don't have fur to keep us protected in harsh climates. We created clothes for that. We became smarter because of our physical disadvantage.
