Then you grotesquely overestimate the wisdom of the average American at an airport before 9/11. How many times had you flown on a major airline when 9/11 happened? Have you considered how many flights take off and land on a daily basis in the US, or even the tri-state area? How exactly, in your opinion, would the US be able to stop something like this?

A far more likely scenario, is that the government had "some" intelligence about the attacks, but didnt know when or how they would be carried out.
