Yeah, I remember Sonic 3 was like $80+.

PS1/N64 had the game prices as $39.99-$49.99. That's the cheapest I remember.

i dont think you guys are reading this article right, he's talking about to make a $60 game, you need to add a shit ton of fluff so that the consumer doesn't feel ripped off. How many times have you played a game and you've come up on parts where you realize you're just grinding and not really progressing even though the game makes it seem like you are. Then again I ride that PC master race train and haven't paid $60 on a day 1 release in years.

Nah the 32 bit era was when retail games were at their cheapest but even then N64 games were more expensive than average cause they stuck to cartridges.

I understand what he is saying. I just can't see myself paying that much for a game unless its Batman or God of War. Everything else I just wait until it gets cheaper and cheaper. I look out for free games and sales on the PSN. Within a month I've gotten all the games I needed and didn't have to spend much on them.

I get that the devs and etc gotta get paid. I guess my reasoning is that since I've gotten older I don't game daily like I used to so purchasing a $60 game constantly isn't worth it because its gonna sit there.
