Underrated.... I don't believe it met expectations but I also don't believe it ever could it was one of those things where ppls envision of it was always gonna be miles ahead of what it was gonna be I feel the same way if we ever get that Cole and Kdot album but it was dope when you strip away the moon and stars expectations

What is up what you jigga warriors trying to rewrite history this summer. It was IC wide consensus in 2011 that Kanye washed Jay z on every song.
Kanye babysat him on this album. This was 2nd time in 2 years he threw Jay z career a lifeline. Kanye was hottest artist at this time and Jay Z was an afterthought. Rap was getting younger. Drill and mumble rap was just born. He couldnt pull another DOA this time so he latched onto Kanye.
Album is weak for 2 heavyweights that had an allstar mob of ghost writers and producers on the album. Nothing but wack lyric after lyric about how rich they are and how much money they blow. I thought album would have MBDTF darkness and artistry. Nah. It sounds like an generic edm album
WTT stunted Kanye growth as an artist. And it really showed Jay z as an opportunist. Remember he was calling Kanye, the guy who he didnt even want to hear rap, his "best friend" around this time. They were inseperable like he was with Irv, Jaz, Dame. The marketing of this album was built off of stories of their friendship. Fast foward to 444 and now he dissing his "best friend" like Irv, Jaz, Dame. Face it jiggaboos. Your favorite rapper is a shitty, shifty dude who would backstab his own fam for personal gain

There were highs and lows but overall it was a solid album that still gets play from time to time
