LOL Everyone knows Vol. 1 is his unheralded 'classic' album... it's just that his stardom as a recording artiste started with Vol. 2 so the former gets kinda thrown to the curb

Lol at acting like vol 1 is a renowned album.... You won't find many ppl that would call vol 1 a classic on the other end most think 4:44 is either a classic now or will be considered one at the end of the day.... Jay himself ain't even put that album in his top 5 albums he's made lol

98 was a great year for Hip-Hop. Albums like Blackstar, Its dark & Hell is hot, Shut em down, capital punishment, heavy mental, Moment of Truth, Don Cartagena, Doc da name, Foundation were better. Don't think Vol 2 stood up or out shine any of these albums, to be calling it a classic. It was good and had alot of commercial hits. But it not the cream if the crop for best albums in 98.

I didn't take to AG like a lotta you guys did. The struggle flow was much more of an issue on songs like Sweet than it was here.

Also, I've never been a fan of the Volumes.

Dynasty better than all three of them imo

Blueprint 2 cudda been a classic

This just goes to show you that Jay fans hear something else when they listen to his music. Vol. 1 is one of the most boring albums I've heard from a big name. I mean, I don't think AG is a great album, but I can at least see how people like it. The last time I listened to Vol. 1, I spent the whole album wondering how Jay even made it big.
